Herbal Ointment

Mighty M’s Mighty Herbal Ointment

YOU NEED:

-1 1/2 Cups of Organic Cocoa Butter

-1/2 Cup of Organic Coconut Oil

-1/2 oz of dried HERBS

-Metal or Glass Storage container with lid (s) (for you to store your ointment or give as gifts to those in need!)

-Strainer/Sieve

-Measuring cup with a spout, for pouring

OPTIONAL:
2 tbsp Dried (not fresh!) Lavender, Eucalyptyus, Cinnamon (ground) or Mint.
Alternatively, you may also wish to add essential oils after the cooking cycle is done.
You also may wish to use an apron, because hot oils can splash when poured.

LET’S GET COOKING!!!!

Step 1: Put on your Apron and decarboxylate (activate) the herbs according to Mighty Fast Herbal Infuser directions.
(Break apart the herbs, and heat them for about 25 minutes on a baking pan in the oven on 250 degrees Fahrenheit heat.)
When complete, remove and set aside to cool (this is Mighty Important, to avoid a “burned” smell in your finished ointment!)

Step 2: If your cocoa butter is solid, melt it carefully on low heat in a pan on the stove. You don’t need to heat it to a boiling liquid, just soften it enough so that it pours. If it turns to liquid that is OKAY, don’t panic! Just make sure it is on low heat. ????

Step 3: Pour the Cocoa Butter and Coconut Oil into the Mighty Fast Herbal Infuser.

Step 4: Add the dried, activated herb, and dried additional herbs if you would like, for therapeutic botanical smells and mighty relaxing effects.
Mint will impart a “cooling” effect to your finished product, Cinnamon or Eucalyptus a “warming” effect, and Lavender a “relaxing” effect.

Step 5: Close the Mighty Fast Herbal Infuser and press option “2” for a 90 minute infusion. (For topicals, you want this to be a deep infusion.)

Step 6: When the cooking cycle is complete, strain out dried plant material and pour into your clean, sterilized storage container.
Place the finished medicinal ointment in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to solidify.

Step 7: Enjoy!!!! You can use this on skin irritations, sore muscles, aches and pains. Do not use on open wounds or infected areas. Just apply where it hurts (except, please use discretion do not apply ointment that contains Cinnamon, Mint, or Eucalyptus directly on or around the eye area) You may store it at room temperature if you will be using it regularly, but if you only use it occasionally, please store it in the refrigerator.

Disclaimer: This is not medical advice and should not be used by anyone who is allergic to any of the above ingredients.
This massage ointment has successfully been used by myself and others, to ease the symptoms of menstrual cramps, minor skin irritations, back pain, headache, and sore, stiff joints and muscles.
